Everyone can see most of the internet, Holden says, but only some people can find the rest, the so-called Deep Web that’s not searchable by Google. The Deep Web is hundreds, perhaps thousands, of times larger. Much of it is benign—private company sites and such. “And then there is the black part of the Internet,” says Holden—the Dark Web, or Darknet.
