Leopard の Boot Camp
昨年アップルが Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard を出荷したとき、 Mac OS エンジン内部の Boot Camp にも改良が加えられていた。マックに Windows XP や Vista（出荷されたあかつきには Windows 7）をインストールしてウインドウズマシンとしてマックを使うことを可能にする Mac OS のカーネルだ。同じスペックの PC より Leopard の Boot Camp で動くマックの方が性能はいいという報告もたくさんある。

東海岸に巨大データセンター
アップルはオンライン事業の規模拡大を図るため、米東海岸に大規模データセンターを計画している。建物や巨大サーバーファームに投じられる金額は 10 億ドルに達するものとみられている。アップルはノースカロライナ州の複数の地域を検討しているが、同州ではアップルを誘致するため課税控除の優遇策を成立させようと当局がやっきになっている。ちなみに隣のバージニア州ではデータセンター誘致のための独自の税制優遇策をすでに措置済みだ。
