月曜日にアップルは CEO の Steven P. Jobs が５か月の病気休暇を終えて仕事に復帰したと発表した。病気休暇の間、彼は肝臓移植手術を受けた。
SAN FRANCISCO — Apple said Monday that Steven P. Jobs, its co-founder and chief executive, had returned to work following a five-month medical leave during which he had a liver transplant.
「Steve は仕事に戻った。週のうち数日出社し、残りは自宅で仕事をしている」とアップルのスポークスマン Steve Dowling は語った。
“Steve is back to work,” said Steve Dowling, an Apple spokesman. “He is currently at Apple a few days a week and working from home the remaining days.”
週のうち何日出社するのか、また Jobs 氏の健康状態はどうなのかということについては Dowling 氏はコメントを避けた。また最初に仕事に戻ったのが何時だったかについても明らかにしなかった。先週 Jobs 氏がアップル本社で仕事をしているのを見かけた者がいる。
Mr. Dowling declined to say how many days a week Mr. Jobs is planning to be on the Apple campus, and he declined to discuss his health. He also would not say when Mr. Jobs first returned to work at Apple. Mr. Jobs was at work on the corporate campus a week ago, according to a person who saw him there.
この Jobs 氏の公式復帰の発表は、病気休暇の期限が切れる直前に行なわれた。病気休暇をとった際、６月末には復帰するだろうと会社側はいっていた。
Mr. Jobs’s official return to Apple comes just before the self-imposed deadline for his medical leave. When Mr. Jobs began his leave, the company said he would be back at work by the end of June.
「彼が戻ってきてたいへんうれしい」と Dowling 氏は語った。
“We’re very glad to have him back,” Mr. Dowling said.
