どうやらアップルが更なる新製品発表のウワサを打ち消したようだ。
アップルから直接そう聞いたと Macworld 誌がいっている。

まだ製品発表があるかもしれないというインターネットのウワサについて、アップルの代表が年末休暇前にこれ以上新製品を発表する計画はないことを明らかにした。
Despite Internet rumors of forthcoming product releases, an Apple representative confirmed that the company has no plans to release any new products before the holidays.
「アップル製品のホリディラインナップには変更ない」とアップルのスポークスマン Bill Evans は Macworld 誌に語った。
“Our holiday line-up is set,” Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld.
ウワサのひとつ［日本語］は、アップルが新 iMac と Mac mini のアップデートを 11 月 10 日に発表すると主張している。ソースについては「アップルのスパイ」といっているだけだ。
For instance, one online report claims that Apple will release new iMacs and an updated Mac mini on November 10. The report offers only “Apple moles” as the source for the report.
他のウワサでも、iMac が 11 月にアップデートされるといっている。こちらは、スピードアップ以外は特段の変更なしとしている。
Another report claims the iMac will be updated in November, as well. According to that report the iMac would receive speed bumps and not any major updates.

信憑性がハッキリしないので別館で扱ったが、結局 11 月 10 日の話は根も葉もないウワサだったということらしい。
アップルが直接ウワサを否定するのは珍しい。
Macworld 誌に語るという形で否定するのは上手いやり方だと思う。
年末商戦の前の大事な時期にウワサの独り歩きでダメージを蒙ることを阻止したということだろうか・・・
